Proposal

Have you wanted to rock out to some good music, but you don’t want to listen to the same old bands you always listen to. So you turn on the radio to try and find some good new tunes to listen to. The only problem is that you can’t see to find a good station to rock out to. Well this can easily be fixed. There just needs to be more rock and roll out. There just needs to be more people who want to rock, or at least more of a demand for new rock and roll bands. This can be done by having people who like to rock get together and rock out.

In this article the author argues that rock and roll isn't dying. He does this very effectively. using facts and good logic.

what this article does is say that rock and roll isn't dying because the author saw a garage band and because of how good the band was he is convinced that rock and roll still lives. I think that this style of argument isn't very strong. just because the author found one good band it doesn't mean that rock and roll still lives. it just means that that bad is good.

rock 'n' roll cartoons, rock 'n' roll cartoon, rock 'n' roll picture, rock 'n' roll pictures, rock 'n' roll image, rock 'n' roll images, rock 'n' roll illustration, rock 'n' roll illustrations

This image fits perfectly into my topic of "is rock and roll dying?" It jokes that punk rock is dying because of their lack of fans. Even though the band has only existed for an hour, which is crazy that they expect to have fans already. It could be interpreted as an argument against the death of rock and roll. It argues death of rock by showing that it is crazy to expect so much from rock.

The article talks about when rock and roll started in the fifties and how it affected society. It does this by showing how it affected teenagers, adults, and even the civil rights movement. It effects these by showing people they don't need to do what people want them to, because in the fifties people thought rock and roll was evil and if you listened to it then you were evil. Therefore by listening to rock and roll you were exercising your freedom.
What qualifies this article is that it is mostly a history article and it was published in History Today. Also the author was alive in the time period of the article so a lot of this is first hand experiences.

Tyrelle: Rock and Roll is Dead R.I.P. qualifier

Is this article qualified enough to be used in a research project? Well the article was found on CNN’s website and written by one of CNN’s writers. CNN is one of the biggest most trusted news companies in the country, so if they publish an article than you can trust what the article says has been well research and well written.

Is Rock and Roll Dead? By Christopher Benek, Qualifier

Some things that qualify this article are that Christopher Benek, the author, has a bachelors degree in political science, and is a rock and roll fan. The degree in political science means he knows about the politics of business. So he knows what qualifies a business as dying or failing. The fact that he is a rock and roll fan means that he probably knows a lot about rock and roll. Since there isn’t any degrees in rock and roll this is acceptable. The audience of this article is for rock and roll fans, or just music fans in general, and since he is a rock and roll fan he knows how to talk to the audience. Making it a good source of information.
